Professional Services Directory — In Development
Updated July 3, 2026
Honest status: this directory doesn’t exist yet. We’re telling you what’s planned rather than dressing up an empty page as a product.
What’s coming
Self-managed boards regularly need professionals by the task — and finding ones who actually know community associations is hard. We’re building a directory of:
- Bookkeeping & financial management services that let boards keep governing while outsourcing the money work (the hybrid model described in our cost comparison).
- Reserve study providers — national firms and regional specialists, including fixed-price DIY options (see the reserve study guide for the questions we’ll be scoring them on).
- CPAs and tax preparers comfortable with Form 1120-H and association audits/reviews.
- Attorneys for collections, governing-document, and election work — routed by state, since association law is state law.
- Insurance professionals for D&O, crime/fidelity, and property coverage. (Insurance referrals involve licensing rules, so this section will be educational routing, not brokerage.)
How listings will work (rules set now, before any money exists)
- Inclusion will never be purchasable in secret. If a listing is sponsored or generates a referral fee, it will say so on the listing, per our disclosure policy.
- Directory criteria will be published, like our software methodology.
- We are not a law firm, accounting firm, property manager, reserve-study provider, or licensed adviser, and the directory won’t pretend otherwise.
Meanwhile
- The complete guide’s section on hiring professionals covers when each specialist is worth paying for.
- The state hub lists official oversight bodies (ombudsmen, state programs) where they exist — several offer free help.
